One more thing, just saw Hannibal, that's one freaky movie. Pretty good, a little less gory than I had come to expect after the response from the press it recieved... but all around a night well spent.
Although I don't really believe it now, I think I'm really going to look back on school with longing. At the moment, I really hate school in a lot of ways, and the hierarchal structure which it imposes on me, etc. However, in a lot of ways, it's really great. I mean, just consider, high school, minimal responsibility, lots of free time, and for me, I like the fact that I can choose to learn a lot about a lot of things. There's a lot more that could be offered to me, but just thinking about it, my life in high school is really free of burden, yet I have a greater degree of freedom now than I have ever before. My guess is that the period of time between me moving on to financial independence from my parents, and the time I sit down and get some sort of career, is going to be the best time of my life. High freedom, little responsibility.

of course, I could be wrong, and I really will never know until it happens, and I can look back on it, when I'm old and wishing I was younger.

I'm having some trouble articulating my thoughts at the moment, but I'll give this a shot.

I want to be immersed in a new world. Have my being completely enveloped in a world outside my own. This could be real, or fantasy. In movies, I can imagine what it would be like to be one of the characters. In a computer game, I can assume the persona of whatever character I'm playing, usually. Or, I could uproot myself from Harvard, MA and leave.

The easiest are the first ones, the most effective is the third. In light of this, I really want the China plan to go through. Getting 2 high school credits, and doing some sort of humanities project can't be that difficult. I'm doing everything in my power to get this to happen.

Well, I haven't had the time to write much interesting recently, but since I'm currently in a caffeine induced state of alertness, without anything to do besides some work, which I'd really rather not do right now, I figured I'd write. So... what's been going on... well, in the last two days, not much has happened except me getting the shaft a whole lot.

Case 1:

So, Alex and I are trying to discuss further our punishment of getting the boot from the computers, and so we try to schedule a meeting with Mr. Keoseian (sp?) but when we do, we get no response, only to have him leave for a confrence the following day, not to return until after vacation (well, not to return and be during school). Something tells me either he's way too busy, or he's avoiding us.

Case 2:

In Journalism, there's a requirement for the next paper we put out, and that is that we all have to write 3+ articles. Of course, Mr. Murphy neglected to tell us this during the article selection for News, Features, and Op/Ed, leaving only Sports and A&E. Of course, I've only got one article, and have two think of two more, or take two other people's suggestions. Seeing as I don't really care at all about the school sports, or A&E, I know nothing. Now, I'm stuck writing shit articles about some new track field the school is buidling somewhere, and I have to write a fucking play review. I don't go to plays, much less review them. Well, shafted again, and again, partially, if not totally, beyond my control.

Case 3:

Short, but the simple story, is that today, during a class meeting, Catherine, VP of our class, decides to announce that I have written an opinion piece about school government, which is not only the writing equivalent of excrement, but pretty harsh against the school government, and then she suggested that everybody go out and read it. I think people are either going to think I'm an inconsiderate ass, or some unjustified evangelist, either way, I'm screwed. There might be some people who agree with me, but it won't matter.

Case 4:

The commodities project was due Thursday, and regarding this project, I got the shaft. You see, my group decided that it'd be fair to give me the single largest actual writing part, and what's more, is that I had to write and compile the bibliography. Tim (one of my partners) did end up helping, but his erroneous style ended up with me harassing him at 11:30 about how he screwed up in his copying and pasting. Either way, that cost me way too much sleep this week.

Case 5:

Apparently, the host of gedtech.com (where this page is located...) has been undergoing upgrades, which would be the cause for all the random stops in service to this webpage. You may not have noticed, but I certainly have. What's more, is that being totally incompetent with mySQL has prevented me from putting up a discussion board, which I'd like to do. Of course, the cryptic manner with which Primemaster has contributed wasn't overwhelmingly helpful.

Case 6:

I'm still banned from the computers. Damnit.

Case 7:

This was my own fault, but I paid too much for overly caffienated prodcuts, but this I don't think I'm going to totally regret. 12+ hours of LAN gaming goodness is gonna be good fun.

Anyhow, moving on, a quick note of mention, also about Journalism class, is that for this column I'm supposed to write, I've got no idea what to write, and what's more, is all these people keep telling me to write something like Dave Barry's column. Two problems. (A) I don't know how Dave Barry writes (I haven't read a column by him in a couple of years, and (B) I'm not a humorist. We'll see how this column turns out. Most of my strong opinions, are ones that I'm sure the school administration would disapprove of.

I guess that's all for now, I'm feeling distracted, so, I'll write more when I think of it, and considering that it's now vacation, that'll probably be pretty often.

If I knew anything about electronics and lasers and the like, and I had some money and time to spend...

I would be building this. Legality be damned, that thing is cool.

Sweet. I'm done with my massive commodities project. A day early! YEAH!

I got nothin' more to say.

Oh yeah. Happy "Valentines" Day.
