Ugh... here at the school... I squander my youth... whoops... not really. I'm just hanging around, updating 25+ computer's versions of MS Office 2000... man it's late. I've been working since about 10:30 this morning. Pictures of fish are neat.
Wow. These new mac mice are really cool. Aesthetically, I'd even say they're superior to the Microsoft Intellieye explorer ones, however... they still only have one "button" if it can be called that. The clicking device is terribly nifty, in the sense that it isn't a button... it's sort of a wrist flick thing. It's quite neat. Well... enough on remarking of the superiority of appearance of mac computers and peripherals.
Oh the beuracraucy. And I'm pretty sure I spelled that wrong... but anyhow. The school's system for people to take non-standard courses is the most ridiculous thing ever. For me... I want to take this C programming course from UMass Lowell, but first I have to check it out w/ guidance, otherwise UMass Lowell won't even start to let me enroll... but in order of Guidance to OK it, I have to talk to the prinicipal to make sure it's ok. I'm quite sure that there's a bottle neck right there. My sister too... she's going into 9th grade, and looking for some challenging math... so... she wants to take AP Statistics. She too has to go through guidance, but before guidance will say yes, she has to get the principal's blessing. Why is it that everything at all needs the principal's approval. I don't understand, and it really is bothering me at this point.
yay. at least my site is up again. I'm still moving off of inasphere.com.

ugggghhh... tired... can't work anymore.... blach.
Well... I've done a lot of stuff today. But not too much interesting. So... I'm just going to remark on a silly TV show I watched at 10:30... it was called "Battle Bots." It is quality television. Apparently these weird families and people spend a lot of money and time on building a robot with the sole purpose of destroying others of these robots. They are put into a hazard filled arena, and left to fight for 3 minutes. Now in spite of the show's somewhat foolish wrestling-style production, the show itself was actually somewhat funny. With people like "Bill Nye" providing scientific sounding descriptions about the exact means with which a robot would dismember it's opponent... it might have almost been considered... neveremind, no it wouldn't have. Also... why is it that the top selling movies of the time are junk. The Art of War, Bring it On and The Cell all appear to be getting mediocre-at-best reviews, yet they are getting lots of money. Anyhow... I need to be at the school tomorow to continue on building machines, moving them around, and eventually... testing.

Well... I've decided that I'm going to elaborate on the time spent after me and a bunch of friends left from the company picnic... we went over to his house to play some Diablo II, however one of the computers, as we discovered finally towards 11:00 PM yesterday did not have a functional monitor. Umm... you see then my friend drove to his office, and borrowed a monitor from there (mind you, it's back there now.) Yeah. I'm still way too tired to think.
Man oh man. What a day. Or rather, two. It all started yesterday at 6:30 AM, when I had to wake up to make a phone call to confirm that I was meeting somebody in Harvard Square. The previous night, I had gotten to sleep around 1:30. I then got driven into the office at 8:15 to get a ride to the T station with a friend, where upon arriving, the train was just pulling out, however, luckily enough for us, the conductor stopped the train and let us hop on, although it seemed that it was more because when we showed up, she hopped off for a second and the train started moving. After nearly missing the train... we headed in to Porter Square, took the subway to Harvard square, and met up with a different friend. From here, he showed us his office at the Harvard University science building, and then we got back on the subway to head to Kendall Square, and furthermore, the MIT campus. Here, we wandered around for a while until we managed to find the information session and tour for MIT, and although the information session was nice, the tour was fairly crummy, because we had only one guide, instead of what MIT had planned, which was 3. So basically, we had a crowd of probably near 50 people bumbilng around in fairly narrow corridors. After the MIT tour, we grabbed some lunch, and hopped back on the subway to head back to Porter Square to take the train back to home. On the train however, we had round trip passes from the stop we left in the morning, which was one stop too short from where we wanted to go... and the friend we picked up in Harvard Square had just bought a ticket to the same place, but when we asked if it would get us to where we needed to be going... we were told no, and that it cost more, however the conductor who was quite nice, decided that he had other tickets to fill out, and he wasn't going to make us dig around for $1.75 each in the little money we had. After getting back, we headed to my parent's company's picnic. This was fun, and I played some volleyball and swam. I played badly at a little chess, and realized that I'm not hardly as bad at Set as I thought I would be having not played it for years. After that, I and a number of friends headed over to a friends house. There, we set up a 5 computer LAN, and played Diablo II until... 3:00 in the morning. It was quite fun, however having to wake up today at 7:30... I haven't gotten a decent amount of sleep for two days. I definetly think I'm not coming to work tomorrow... uggghhhh.

So anyhow, that's what I've been up to recently. Furthermore, that's why I feel really tired right now. Later today I'm heading into school to not only help set up and configure the school computers, but also to talk to the guidance department (the people who control the schedules) about courses next year. That's all for now, back to testing for me.

Everything is over.

Well... not Everything...First off... I think I was a bit too mild in my earlier description of the kids I was dealing with. Flat out, they are obnoxious. But enough on that...

The original plan about me visiting some colleges in Boston tomorrow w/ some friends has failed. Originally we planned on heading out at around 9:00 in the morning, touring Harvard, then MIT, and heading back in for the company picnic (in a company in which we are all associated fairly closely with) for about an hour, then heading off to a friends house for a mini-LAN party. This is all wrong. Now.. we're going in for one tour, and coming back. That's it. After the picnic, everything is still the same. Ack I need to get sleep. I need to be awake at 6:30.... ack ack ack.

Well... now that it's pretty much over, this weekend wasn't as bad as I had originally anticipated. At first, because of the guests we were having, I was expecting a weekend of caretaking for little kids (11, 6 and 3) however it wasn't quite the same as my overactive imagination had predicted. I had a weird dream that was a combination of my summer camp, the terrible show and nationwide phenomenon known as "Survivor", and the Great Flood myth of assorted backgrounds. It was quite odd. So.... now I sit and I wait. I blog because I must. I have decided, that assuming I can manage it all out... this year, instead of Ancient and Medieval European history, I'm going to drop that for a study/independent study and instead I'm going to take a course from the CyberEd department of UMass Lowell. The course (or possible courses) being Discrete Structures, which is bascially a math course that is high level, and I haven't taken yet. (The other course will possibly be some tech course, which could be anything from Perl, Macromedia Flash, Web Page Development, Intro to Java, and a few other things.) So anyway... ideally I'll be able to do that. Better still, I'll be able to do that, w/ the support of my school in order to get high school credit as well, and better still they'd pay for it. Unfortunately, I think the only way they would pay for it is if it was through dual enrollment program here, however, I think the deadlines for that are all long past.

In 40 minutes I expect to be headed home from Maine... and tomorrow I'll be touring Harvard and MIT with some friends, that should be fun and informative. Anyhow... time for some lobstersalad and then back to home.
