I am not amused. It's amazing how non-functional the school government is. Last year, even if the people who won the student government elections weren't necessarily the most well liked people, they got something tangible done. Perhaps it's merely that I haven't noticed that the Class of `02's student government having done something, but it certainly seems like very little has happened.

Of course, I could just be irritated because I'm not treasurer, and therefore have no voice at all. Maybe I should run for Student Council. It seems that any random schmoe (Alex) can run and win, without having any plans or views on the issues of which they have no knowledge of... the campaign being basically, "Vote for Me because I held a symbolic but totally functionless position back in the bureaucratic days of Parker (the school I went to for 7th and 8th grade) government." I mean sheesh, somebody like Anthony at least had an idea of stuff he'd like to do, even if he wouldn't be able to easily do it. So what if he's not quite as popular w/ the rest of the grade as Tyo, these "elections" shouldn't be popularity contests, in spite of the fact that it is. Of course, returning to the treasurer issue... I got the shaft there. The vote wasn't conducted correctly, and votes for the pseudonym of "Yoda" which can be easily attributed to me by anybody within the grade, but not any of the faculty advisors or other grades members who did counting. But... maybe I'm just bitter, still.

There isn't really anybody to blame individually, so I'll hold grudges against everybody involved.

I've decided I'm going to change the name of this blog. Previously it was called random.thoughts. Then I changed it simply because I could to Arbitrary Ambiguity. Now... I am thinking of a name that is somewhat original (the original need for change) and has an actual meaning pertaining to the blog.

Bwahahaha. That's crazy. The IQtest on IQtest.com is a giant advertising ploy! That can't be interpreted seriously... sure, I might be smart, but I doubt I've got an IQ of 160something, thus being what... 6 standard deviations above average? I think not.

As for my actual intelligence... although I'm somewhat embarassed to say what I got... I took an "IQ test" at iqtest.com. If I knew what scale that was on, and what the average score was there, perhaps I'd be more willing in sharing, but until I know... I'll just keep it to myself.

I am 49% un-intelligent. Whatever the hell that means.
You know what else bugs me? Blue text on black background. Ick. To clarify, I mean black as in black, and blue as in the usual default hyperlink color blue.
Do you know what really bothers me? Ok, perhaps it doesn't really bother me it just strikes me as completely ridiculous.

The procedure in question here is when people speak actions instead of doing them. First and foremost are the occasions where "High Five!" is spoken and nothing is done. I don't understand it, and I don't see the point of it. Of course the situation that spurred me to writing it is when I was talking w/ a friend. He and I were discussing something, and then for some reason, he said, "Whine" but much more high pitched and drawn out than I can convey through text (something like a high pitched whhiiiiinnnneeee with no long vowel sounds [i.e. the eeee isn't prounounced the way it looks]) and it just made me go nuts. I started going into this long tirade about how people are so entirely lazy that they can't even think of a decent whining, but instead resort ot silly phrases to convey the same meaning. To me, it's like using silly acronyms such as "l8r" or abbreviated sentences/phrases such as "gtg, ttyl" or "cya" and "sup." I personally don't like using such phrases and try to avoid them... sure, I'll use some acronyms and in doing so I'm sure I act somewhat hypocritical... but I don't think I know anybody who is perfect in keeping at not doing something that is easier even if they frown upon it, for example use of the acronym "brb."

I've been reading a lot of other blogs recently, mostly because having gotten onto the Blogger directory, I check it out much more often to make sure that I'm showing up... of course they're software is great and I really don't bother checking anymore... it's become more of a habit now. I go to the directory, look for a blog I haven't read before, and start reading. I've also got a whole bunch of them bookmarked simply because they're interesting to read. It amazes me how much time some people appear to have though.

Actually... thinking back what really started me going was the discovery through my webcounter that I had gotten onto a "Power Bloggers" list which keeps track of the most active bloggers for the day and having gone there to see what it was... I've since found out about and started to regularly check on a number of blogs. It's crazy.

Anyhow... I'm finding all sorts of nifty websites, how they were found by others is totally beyond me, but it doesn't matter. Here's an example.

Egads! What a crazy article.

Whoa... I didn't know Microsoft made telephones. Wow... they actually make all sorts of gadgets. Here's a Universal Remote type thingy.
What a terrific article on Odigo. It almost makes me want to start using it again... maybe I will just because I don't like AOL.
Places like Newgrounds and Othervision are very entertaining to go and watch shorts on. Othervision is more specific in its flash programming, however Newgrounds frequently has a lot of funny stuff, although I don't like all the ultraviolent and weird games on that site.
Wow... that's the 3rd movie I've watched today... which for me, is far above any reasonable amount. The first was The Usual Suspects, the second was Cider House Rules and the most recent, of which I finished just a couple of minutes ago, was Fallen.

Secondly, I'd like to point out that Esquire Magazine is a high quality publication. I thoroughly enjoy reading most of it every month.
